# Top-down

To apply top-down reconciliation, click the ***Top Down* **icon in the Group Level group on the **Forecasting** tab or select *Forecasting>Group Level>Top-down* from the Navigator’s context menu.

This procedure begins by preparing forecasts for all groups and items. Then it proportionally adjusts the nested lower level item and group forecasts to sum to the selected group’s forecast. Top-down reconciliation uses the following modifier:

- **\\*TOPDOWN***: Directs Forecast Pro to perform top-down reconciliation for all members of the indicated group.
